Established in 2021, Howl | Bar & Charcuterie is an independent wine bar and café on Castlegate in the centre of York. We serve craft beer and low intervention wines alongside a menu of seasonal small plates, cheese and charcuterie.

Wines
Our selection of Wines are ever changing. with a small main menu and a selection of special's, We serve a mixture of Red, White, Rosé and Orange Wine by the glass, and our team are on hand to find you the perfect wine for all occasions.
We focus on low-intervention wines from small vineyards all over the world, and we work closely with local importers who champion independent winemakers.
Small Plates
Our menu features seasonal small plates perfect for nibbling on alongside our low-intervention wines and craft beers. From a mix of Bar Snacks to Homemade Flatbreads or Roast Potatoes with a fresh Dip. we keep things simple but delicious.

Our menu now features a sharing board of cured meat, Cheese, Bread, Olives & Chutney. Feel free to choose any 2 meats or cheeses from the menu or special's board .

We love to work with local producers in the York area to source high quality charcuterie, cheeses and ingredients that work with the seasons. Plus, all our bread is a from local bakery called Bluebird.
